A Common Adswap Issue…

“John HELP!! I am experiencing a problem with one of my partners on Safe Swaps. He is threatening me because he has given me more than 100 clicks and he wants me to match his clicks straight away.

This means I will have to keep bombarding my list every day with his offer and all I am getting is 4 to 8 clicks on his current offer and I cannot see how this is going to increase by the end of the month to over 100 clicks.

What do you suggest I do? I was thinking in this case I will need to book his swap and sending it twice a day every day until I get a match. There are 3 other swap members that I have to match clicks with, so I am under pressure to get matches with these people as well. I keep them informed every time I queue their swipes. But none of the others have threatened me with a bad rating.

Julie”

(I got a bit more info from Julie before giving this response…)

Hi Julie,

Firstly, the key to resolving any issue, especially this type of issue, is good ol’ fashion communication.

Be sure to message him as soon as possible so that he knows that you are aware of the issue and want to get it resolved quickly also.

Secondly, you need to realize that this guy is a jerk and you don’t want to be in any hurry to swap with him again. Your Safe Swaps profile clearly shows that your average clicks per swap is 26. That alone should have told him that he shouldn’t have sent you 100.

If he took the trouble to look further into your profile, he could have easily seen that the most you’ve even swapped was around 50.

Why he sent you 100 clicks I’ll never know.

You didn’t agree to 100 so you shouldn’t stress nor feel obligated to send him that 100 clicks if you’re not able to. Explain this to him and tell this bully that you’ll send him what you can, when you can, and just do the best you can do.

If he threatens to give you a negative rating, simply tell him that you’ll do the same in return and that you’ll also publish the whole experience on the Safe Swaps forum.

Now, for ideas on how to match his clicks…

Only mail out his offer three times max to your list. Any more than that will annoy them. After that, you could send the offer out as a second offer in other mailouts.

Another option is to ask him to send you another one of his offers via the Safe Swaps ‘Match Clicks’ section of your swap.

[Note: Julie was able to satisfactorily resolve this issue]
